Twinning

Twinning is an Institute initiative, aimed at forging closer bonds and promoting greater cross-cultural understanding between Lasallian schools and their staff across the worldwide Lasallian family.

Our District of Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Papua New Guinea introduced Twinning arrangements in 2016 and the program is helping to forge long term links between students and staff across the different countries of our District.

Through formal twinned school arrangements, students and staff have the opportunity to learn more about each other's cultures and customs, bringing together Lasallians in solidarity as brothers and sisters.

They are enriched through ongoing engagement as they come together sharing challenges, accomplishments, stories and experiences.

Twinning allows for ongoing and mutually beneficial professional development opportunities between schools, including Principal, teacher, administration staff and student exchanges.

Twinning has helped enhance the strong ties already forged between our schools through Mission Action Days, Founder's Days and other fundraising activities as well as amplifying the impact of school immersion programs.

Over a ten year period, Lasallian schools in ANZPPNG have raised over AUD$2.5 million to assist more needy schools in PNG and Pakistan.

Twinning has helped provide schools in Australia and New Zealand with a stronger focus in their annual Mission Action fundraising as they gain a deeper on the ground appreciation of some of the day-to-day challenges faced by their Twin school in Papua New Guinea and Pakistan.

Twinning can then be an integral part of a school's curriculum, helping to enhance a student's appreciation of the global nature of the Lasallian family and providing opportunities for Lasallian schools across different countries to network and deepen their cross-cultural understanding.
