David Bentley, a university student from Melbourne and
ex-student of De La Salle College, Malvern working as a teacher assistant in 2009 at Mainohana Catholic Secondary School in rural Papua New Guinea. His placement is a three hour trip by 4WD from Port Moresby. |

Chas Carroll, a high school graduate of Francis Douglas Memorial College, New Plymouth, New Zealand worked as a teacher assistant and recreation officer at Luurnpa Catholic School, conducted by the
Brothers in the Kimberley, W.A. Chas and his co-volunteer were instrumental in starting a number of new programs in the town. |

Patricia Luakenu, is a former student of Holy Trinity Catholic Teacher's College in Papua New Guinea and worked as a teacher assistant at Luurnpa Catholic School, conducted by the
Brothers in the Kimberley, W.A. Patricia is now highly involved in Lasallian ministries across Papua New Guinea as well as teaching. |

Nick Siffleet, a high school graduate of Francis Douglas Memorial College, New Plymouth, New Zealand worked as a teacher assistant and recreation officer
at Luurnpa Catholic School, conducted by the
Brothers in the Kimberley, W.A. Nick was also involved in a 'young men's' program which was highly successful. |

Tom Borger, a high school graduate of O'Connor Catholic High School, Armidale worked as a teacher's assistant at De La Salle College, Mangere, in Auckland, New Zealand. Tom pursued further youth work opportunities in Auckland following the completion of his placement. |

Josh Dwyer, a high school graduate of De La Salle College, Revesby in Sydney chose to put his university studies on hold and volunteer at De La Salle College, Auckland as a teacher's assistant. Josh was also highly involved in youth ministry. Josh is now employed by the De La Salle Brothers as a Youth Minister in Sydney. |

Amy Bisschops
after finishing Year 13 at John Paul College Rotorua, New Zealand
ministered in Luurnpa Catholic School at Balgo Hills
in Western Australia. Her work with a co-Volunteer involved
sport, assisting in kindergarten class, helping with
discos and more. |

Centre teacher from PNG worked as a teacher assistant
in 2006 at Luurnpa Catholic School, conducted by the
Brothers in the Kimberley, W.A. |

Sio Laumatia, a youth worker
from De La Salle College Mangere gave up a year of his
life in 2006 to develop youth leadership programs and
facilitate retreats in Lasallian PNG schools. |

Tom Bryers from Oakhill College Castle Hill,
Sydney in 2006 used his leadership and sports skills
at De La Salle Mangere N.Z in the Literacy Centre and
on the footy field with the Pacifica and Maori-background
boys. |
2005 PLACEMENT

Ben Shore,
from Wanganui NZ, worked for 2004 and then applied and
was placed at De La Salle Malvern assisting 12-14 year
old students with learning difficulties. He became part
of the Lasallian Youth scene in Melbourne - Camp La
Salle, fishing trips and activities nights for guys
from DLS schools. He completed a young Catholic adult
education course in the city. |

Adrian Lane was 18 in 2004, and
came from De La Salle College, Malvern. Working in our
Balgo Hills indigenous school he received the welcome
and friendship of the people of Wirrimanu. He played
a lot of sport with the kids and men's footy team, helping
in classes and the library. |

Ignatius Veukiso,
a 20 year-old uni student from South Auckland (old boy
of De La Salle Mangere), took up a cross-cultural experience
at LaSalle Catholic College, Bankstown, Sydney. He was
an assistant sports teacher and developed a Pacific
Islander & Maori pastoral group. He has since worked
in DLS Mangere’s Literacy Centre and is pursuing
a teaching course. |

Jacob Kowalewski from
Tauranga N.Z., Head Boy at John Paul College, Rotorua.
He worked in vocational training and trade enterprises,
with young marginalised people at BoysTown in south-east
Queensland. He gained a trades certificate and currently
has an apprenticeship back home. |
