The Solidarity and Development Secretariat of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools recently launched a new collaboration initiative involving 40 Lasallian representatives from around the world. The initial intention of the project was to develop capacity and foster a more collaborative culture within the Lasallian solidarity and development network. As such, the project originally envisaged focusing on the Institute's fundraising units around the world.

Some years ago, I came across Quinn's work and LMC colleagues have regularly heard me quote from it. The following extract seems counterintuitive considering the detailed District 2018-22 Strategic Plan, but it nevertheless points to the challenges of successful leadership, particularly in such fast-paced and uncertain times:

Last August, I was given the opportunity to take a trip which truly changed my life.
A group of students from De La Salle College journeyed to Cape York to spend time in remote Aboriginal communities. In an effort to discover more about Aboriginal culture, lifestyles and the hardships faced over their lives since European settlement, we spent time in Jajikal and Julaymba homelands which allowed students to connect with Traditional Owners and their families.
