The Lasallian Mission Council has been overwhelmed by the support it has received from Catholic primary schools across Sydney to a book drive to help poorly resourced schools in Papua New Guinea.
Teacher librarians and principals from numerous primary schools in Sydney have generously donated hundreds of books and other learning resources to help needy students in PNG.
The first Sydney school to lift its hand was St Christopher's Primary School in Panania.
Its Principal Julie King and Teacher Librarian Christine Borg (pictured) have been kind enough to donate school furniture along with hundreds of childrens' books and bibles to PNG.
Generous book donations have also been received from St Michael's Primary School at Belfield, Villa Maria Primary School in Hunters Hill, Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School in Gladesville and St Therese's Primary School in Lakemba.
The Lasallian Mission Council is also grateful to the support and advice it has received from the Lasallian Foundation in planning the book drive and with delivering future donations to PNG.
We would welcome donations to the PNG Book Drive and if you can help, please contact us at the Provincial Office on (02) 97956400
