FDMC Students take on the annual Taranaki Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition

Recently, Thomas Whaley and Sreeram Murugaiyen from Francis Douglas Memorial College New Plymouth, competed in the annual Taranaki Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. Sreeram played Mozart's Flute Concerto in D, 2nd mvt, Andante ma non troppo. Thomas played Beethoven's 5th piano concerto no 5 in Eb major op 73, mvt 2 Adagio.

Both gave an outstanding performance to a very appreciative audience. Thomas has been selected to perform with the Taranaki Symphony Orchestra at a later date. We will keep you posted of the date for this show.

For these musicians, performing at this level has taken hours of dedicated, self- disciplined practice. Congratulations Thomas and Sreeram!
