Formation for new teachers

Formation for new teachers

Thanks to the organising efforts and hospitality of Chris Goodman, acting Director of Mission at Oakhill College, thirteen new members of staff to the College came together on Friday 31 March for Lasallian Heritage Formation.

It was most encouraging to listen to these people reflecting on their positive experiences at Oakhill over the past several weeks.

One of the activities was to choose and comment on one of several short extracts from the writings of John Baptist de La Salle and (in the case of the Conduct of the Christian Schools) the first Lasallian teachers.

The different insights shared were a strong indication that Oakhill has been blessed with a group of committed and enthusiastic educators.

Principal Br Steve Hogan, was also a welcoming visitor to the gathering.

OUR ADULT FORMATION PROGRAMS ARE MOBILE

We see Lasallian formation as an integral part of professional development, aligned with the accreditation requirements of Catholic Education Offices and Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
