On the 24 November, students from Holy Spirit Catholic College had the opportunity to engage in a demonstration against Domestic Violence.
The Tug of War Cup held at Bankstown Sports Centre brought together students ranging from primary school to seniors in which they would all "pull their weight" for a great cause.
White Ribbon Australia aims to engage both males and females to make women's safety a men's issue as well. Domestic violence is a preventable issue and it was a privilege for the Year 12 students taking part in the competition to take an oath to "stand up and act to prevent violence against women". Unfortunately, the Holy Spirit tug of war team were eliminated in the semi-finals, but the students took away a bigger message of pulling their weight in raising awareness of domestic violence.
