Kiwi uni students gather for La Salle Retreat

By Damian Khoury

Philippe Dulawan and Damian Khoury from the Young Lasallians team had the privilege of running a Young Adults retreat at De La Salle College in Mangere, New Zealand on September 14.

This was a very special night with alumni students from the Lasallian schools in NZ present.

These former students all participate in the Uni La Salle program, which invites recent alumni to assist with school retreat and reflection days.

The young adults retreat was a wonderful opportunity for the District's Young Lasallians Team to give back to them and to support their spiritual development as they continue to engage in this important work.

The theme of 'Your Life: The Greatest Show' was used at this event, with many of the young adults having an opportunity to share with each other their life stories, some of their joys as well as their struggles. It was an amazing opportunity to have Lasallian community time together.

An important part of this evening was letting the community know about the Lasallian Youth Gathering taking place in Melbourne 2019. This being exciting news sparked lots of interest and high hopes for more Alumni students present in the coming year.

Thank you to Lachlan Stewart and Franco De Joya, the Lasallian Volunteers in New Zealand for your help at this event.

A special thank you to Sir Br Pat, Br Mark, Br Lewis and the community of De La Salle, Mangere for your help in accommodating the team and being a very warm and welcoming presence.
