La Salle Bankstown forging closer ties with Lasallians in Japan

Students and staff from La Salle Catholic College in Bankstown had a welcome insight into a fellow Lasallian school in Japan this month.

A Year 7 student from Hakodate La Salle Junior High School, Rikuya Isai and his parents, Dr Hideya and Mrs Yukiko Isai were given a guided tour of the school on 8 August by Principal Mr Michael Egan.

The Isai family were visiting Sydney and wanted their 12 year old son to experience another Lasallian school to help him gain a stronger appreciation of being part of a global family.

Rikuya was able to meet fellow students and sit in on some of the classes and he and his parents came away very impressed by the facilities, particularly at the St Yon Trade Training Centre.

Like La Salle College Bankstown, Hakodate La Salle Junior High School is also an all-boys school and is located in Hakodate City on Japan's second largest island of Hokkaido.

When Rikuya returns to Japan after the summer holidays, he is looking forward to delivering a presentation to his classmates about life in a fellow Lasallian school in Australia.
