Lasallian Facilitator awarded for his outstanding commitment to the Mission

Kane Raukura, Lasallian Facilitator De La Salle College Mangere East NZ, has been awarded for his outstanding commitment to the Mission of the Eureka! Trust.

The Award is presented to a teacher who has demonstrated a significant on-going commitment to the Mission of the Eureka! Trust "to identify and foster young leaders who, through their knowledge of science, technology, engineering or mathematics, their entrepreneurial vision and persuasive communication skills, will bring about the vision of New Zealand as foreseen by Sir Paul Callaghan"After multiple nominations from colleagues, students past and present, and teaching associates, the field of nominees was narrowed down to a single STEM Teacher for 2019. This was awarded to Mr Kane Raukura National STEM Science Teacher for 2019.

"It was an absolute privilege and honour being selected as the Eureka Teacher for 2019. An even bigger honour though was being in the presence of the talented young men and ladies who presented on the night. The entire event from beginning to end was most enjoyable and the organisation faultless. What they do as the Eureka Trust is quite exceptional. I am sure that Sir Paul is smiling down and feeling that his legacy has been placed in good hands."
