Sisters Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (VEYM)
SIMON HOA Community - Glenfield 11 13/10/2019
In the relaxed atmosphere of school holidays, the Eucharistic children of Simon Hoa Community (Georges Hall) were eager to participate in a camping trip organised by the Youth of Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement (VEYM).
The gathering was attended by over 70 children, 20 young persons and leaders, 20 parents, Father Tuyet and three Vietnamese Sisters.
The camp began with an opening Mass at 6:30pm. The theme of this year was "The Power of The Holy Spirit". Over the three days, all children participated in large games focussing on the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Participants were spoilt with a range of delicious meals cooked by the parents. Throughout the gathering, participants joined in with fun activities and quizzes. At the end of each day, children gathered together at the Blessed Sacrament tent to attend adoration with Jesus Christ.
The campfire was a major part of the camp, which took place on Saturday night, starting with the sight of the Holy Spirit appearing on the Apostles, then was the ritual of calling fire and saluting sacred fire. After that, children divided into several teams to perform a musical repertoire according to each biblical theme such as Salomon, Norah, Last supper, Jesus resurrection, Emmaus etc.
On the last day, all children, leaders and parents celebrated Sunday Mass, followed by water games and a final BBQ.
