Dear Fellow Lasallians,
I am absolutely thrilled to be here among you!
My new role as Assistant Director, Young Lasallians will offer me the opportunity to work with and among many of you as you engage in our shared mission. I hope to visit each of your schools and works over the next few months so as to better understand your ministry, your context, and how I can effectively support and serve you. Having met many of your student leaders at the Lasallian Student Leaders gathering in Collaroy a few weeks ago. I am now looking forward to meeting the men and women who have helped to form and educate such vibrant Lasallians. You have much to be proud of!
Looking to the future, I hope that my engagement with both the Youth Ministry and Formation teams here at Lasallian Mission Services will lead to new opportunities for the Young Lasallians who work in this district. As I meet you over the next few months I am eager to hear about your experiences, your ideas, and your hopes. Let's dream together about the future of this District and about our role within and our experience of this community.
Please allow me to publically thank the very many of you who have welcomed me with great warmth, in particular the Lasallian Mission Council and Lasallian Mission Services staffs with whom I work in Bankstown.
I am also grateful to the Brothers' communities in the Sydney area who have been so kind and have invited me to their homes (and have even allowed me to run off with some of their furniture!).
I owe a particular debt of gratitude to Merv McCormack, who first invited me to apply for this position, and to Julie Alibrandi, who has put many hours towards making it possible for me to join you here. Both have truly gone above and beyond to ensure that my transition to life 'down under' has been as smooth as possible.
After having been here for only a few short weeks it is clear to me that ANZPPNG is a vibrant part of the global Lasallian family. Thank you, once again, for welcoming me. I am glad to be here!
