Mission Assembly - the work is yours, and ours

On Sunday 15 April, over fifty delegates gathered at The Hermitage Mittagong in New South Wales for the opening of the Mission Assembly, the first Assembly since 2012.

The group representing the Four Sectors of the District constituted of 37 Lay Partners and 13 Brothers. Br Ricky Laguda, General Councillor delivered the opening keynote address titled: "Vitality of the Lasallian Mission Internationally."

Br Paco Chiva, Secretary of Association based in Rome was also in attendance and was grateful for the opportunity to participate in table discussions regarding the Draft District Plan. Later in the week, Br Paco visited the Provincial Office and meet with LMC staff members before leaving for Papua New Guinea for further meetings with Brothers and school visits in Port Moresby, Mt Hagen, Bomana and Hohola. 

Following the lively discussions around the Strategic Priorities at the diverse gathering, some further drafting of the ANZPPNG District Plan for 2018-2022 will be carried out by the Mission Assembly Preparatory Committee.

Thank you to Fr Paul Roberts of the Diocese of Parramatta who was the celebrant of the opening Mass, and accompanied by the Young Lasallians Team Members and musicians, Damian Khoury and Sebastian Duhau.

The Mission Assembly concluded on Tuesday 18 April 2018.
