It's almost seven weeks since I arrived in PNG and grown attached to La Salle Technical College, Hohola.
I feel blessed to have the opportunity to personally contribute towards the De La Salle Mission and to help make a difference to those in need. I consider it God's plan to be a part of this institute, working with these lovely students who often come from challenging backgrounds or who have experienced rejection by the mainstream education system.
I am currently teaching English and Religion to students in Year 9 and 10 and aside from teaching these wonderful students at La Salle, the most beautiful and grace-filled time is also attending Mass at the local Parish church and open classrooms with Br. Antony Swamy FSC (Principal) and Mr. Simon (aspirant and teacher).
Greetings and smiles of the students truly make my day. Any feelings of sadness or disorientation simply vanish when I'm always warmly welcomed by the college.
I hope to be of service to these students so they can feel positive and hopeful about their own futures and as an integral part of their community.
Live Jesus in our hearts forever!
