With the Lasallian Global Women's Symposium fast approaching, a group of Lasallian women from PNG are working hard across all 22 provinces in the hope of raising the much-needed funds to attend the Women's Symposium in Auckland, New Zealand.
The group of 20 women are running their own fundraising activities, selling goods and reaching out to local businesses and government departments for support.
Lasallian Family President, Grace Wrakia said; "The PNG Lasallian Family consists of hundreds of women living the Lasallian charism, whether it be in the economic hub and city of Port Moresby, or in the most remote mountain school in the Jiwaka Province or on Karasau Island in East Sepik Province."
For many of the women attending the symposium, traveling to New Zealand will be a first time experience.
"Despite living in country that is so diverse in culture and language, a country that has one of the most rugged geographical terrains in the world, we are determined to make a difference and bring about a positive change for our children and for the future of this country," concluded Grace.
