Holy Spirit Lakemba is the latest Lasallian school to generously take part in hosting a 40ft shipping container as part of a valuable initiative, bound for Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
The packing of the container continued on Friday 13 September, with some very energetic students from Lakemba and members of Lasallian Mission Council, working collaboratively to pack much-needed school resources such as; filing cabinets, tables and chairs, uniforms, stationery and pre-loved textbooks.Once complete, the container will be shipped to De La Salle Secondary School Bomana, to be shared with the schools and Teachers College in Port Moresby.
Lasallian Mission Council (LMC) are extremely grateful to the Principal, staff and particularly the students of Holy Spirit Lakemba, who were involved on the day, and the local community who are supporting such a valuable initiative.
As a result of the repacking, there is now plenty of room for further goods that will be well-used in PNG. The next load lined up is desks from De La Salle Cronulla.
In promotion and support of the mission of the De La Salle Brothers, perhaps you or your community might be able to donate locally to this wonderful initiative?
