It's official, the Senior Learning Centre at St Michael's College is now open! After a 12 month build and an investment of $12.7m, the SMC Year 12 students have officially moved in on Monday and are familiarising themselves with the new state of the art learning facility.
The centre has been modelled on a university hub design and includes flexible learning spaces that will cater for individual and group learning.
The stunning two-storey building includes the following key features of the design:
The facility is adjacent to the main oval and provides new change rooms, community area, carpark, landscaped outdoor gathering and learning spaces, and a foyer dedicated to the history of the De La Salle Brothers.
The College looks forward to enjoying a first class facility that will enhance the educational outcomes for the students of St Michael's College.
A grand opening and blessing of the building will take place on 8 August and another event will be organised so that the SMC community can take a look at the new facility.
