Last week (Wednesday February 13) marked the 11th Anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations. This was an important day in the history of our nation as we took steps towards reconciliation.
Senior students from Southern Cross Catholic College, Scarborough, attended a special ceremony at St Rita's College Clayfield to mark this special occasion. The Murri Ministry led the commemoration ceremony with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country assisted by dancers from Ambrose Treacy College. The students were given time to reflect during the Liturgy and to participate in Yarning Circles. During Yarning Circles, the students discussed '10 things you should know about slavery in Australia.'
