St James College organise clothing drive for Balgo

Over the last few weeks, St James has been collecting warm clothing to send to the community of Balgo in Western Australia. St James has a strong connection with Balgo, having completed Immersion Trips there in the last few years. Unfortunately, this year the Immersion trip was cancelled given the risks associated with COVID-19.

Community members of Balgo, given the restrictions on travel, have been unable to travel to go shopping to gather warm clothes. Additionally, income through the Arts Centre has being hindered given the restrictions on visitors to the community. Accordingly, the community has put out a request for support in the way of warm clothing.

The St James Community have amassed just over twenty kilograms of clothing to send to Balgo. Thanks to all of the staff and students who have donated clothing.

Congratulations to Joel Harriss, Lasallian Youth Minister, who facilitated this initiative.
