On Saturday 1 August De La Salle College Mangere East were privileged enough to have the Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr Winston Peters, talanoa with us in the College staffroom.
Coming from a perspective of a student looking to pursue a career in law and/or possibly politics, this was a huge experience and opportunity for me, being able to gain knowledge and wisdom from a Polynesian/Maori politician himself.
This was a great experience for the debate team who were able to ask the Deputy Prime Minister questions about social issues and his position. Being able to converse with such a leader was a buzzing experience and was a real insightful moment.
Thank you, Deputy Prime Minister, for giving up your time. Thank you Mr Wendt for organizing this opportunity!
