There is no doubt that yourtown has made a strong impact over the years for countless young individuals in the stickiest of situations. Between July and September, yourtown undertook its new Efficiency and Effectiveness framework. This produced a stronger focus on the engagement on Social media from winners of the Prize Home network that in turn, made it to hundreds of individuals participating in the competition. There has been an increase in donations from Art Union supporters, which suggests an increase in knowledge and support of yourtown services. Active customer counts in the House and Car Art Unions has increased by 5% when compared with last year. A major key to yourtown' services is a focus on key organisational priorities, meaning a need for increased funding from Government/s of cyber-safety, Mental Health and well-being and Suicide Prevention.
When it comes to areas of improvement, yourtown is constantly looking to gain more knowledge and seek advice and guidance. The response rate for telephone and webchat in Kids Helpline were both below 45% - increasing the risk of impact on young people in critical need of the service. This will be fixed by increasing capacity to fill shifts left vacant through illness or unpaid leave. Whilst this occurs by no one's fault, yourtown looks to improve their services any way possible. Youth unemployment in regional South Australia is above 25% and employment market in Port Pirie is declining. This then limits job prospects and in turn affect sustainable job placements which are contracted KPI's for both TTW and ParentsNext.
There have been a number of community services and programs that have made immense progress since July. Such improvements include 34 placements made in 'your job your way' service, 23 Social Enterprise participants transitioned to employment, Kids Helpline telephone response rate went from 44% to 51.5% as well as 488 duty of care interventions conducted in Kids Helpline.
This is only a sliver of the impact that yourtown has on the many services it provides and assists with. There are constantly new clients, problems and developments growing within yourtown, contributing to the lives of hundreds of young Australians. Everyone within the company embodies Lasallian values to enhance a culture of high performance and accountability.
