The Struggle is Real

17 boys from De La Salle College, Mangere East, went on a journey to Hong Kong (three nights) and Manila in the Philippines (18 nights). It was an awesome trip with a huge variety of experiences. The boys were magnicent in handling a wide range of new situations and having an ability to relate to everyone they came across.  The main lesson that the boys learned is that the struggle in other parts of the world is at a different level to South Auckland and that we have a huge amount to be grateful for.

The Boys visited the following Lasallian Institutions:

  • La Salle High School, Kowloon
  • De La Salle University, Central Manila (DLSU)
  • La Salle Greenhills (LSGH)
  • DLS Vermosa
  • De La Salle University Das Marinas
  • CPCD primary school
  • West Crame School in Police compound.
  • Hospicio De San Jose Orphanage
  • Bistekville housebuilding project
  • San Mateo Village
