Expressions of Interest are being received now!
Together for Mission is an intensive, two-year program for leaders and aspiring leaders in Lasallian schools and yourtown. With the aim of, together, enhancing our capacity to work effectively for the wellbeing and education of young people, especially the most vulnerable, the program draws on three sources of wisdom: participants' own experience, the best of current educational and social research, and our 340 years of adapting to the differing needs of young people in many different global contexts.
The program will be conducted in four blocks of four working days, over four semesters, beginning in November this year. We have been fortunate in bringing together an experienced group of facilitators from yourtown, the schools sector, and Lasallian Mission Services.
Individually and together, participants will have a basis on which critically to reflect on their present work with young people, affirming what continues to be valuable and deciding on practical means of implementing desirable change. Over the four semesters and in consultation with their Principal / CEO yourtown, participants will work on a practical project of value within their workplace, whether for themselves personally or for some or all of their colleagues.
Built into the program is the possibility of developing a plan for in-house formation by participants, with the ongoing support of Lasallian Mission Services.
For those seeking post-graduate certification, the program provides an opportunity to complete at least one unit (Grad Cert or Masters) through BBI-The Australian Institute of Theological Education, with the possibility of cross-institutional credit with other tertiary bodies.
Cost & Dates
We have kept the cost of the program as low as possible without compromising its quality. The cost of the first block will be $1990, to include accommodation for five nights, meals from Sunday evening to Friday breakfast, drinks on Sunday evening, conference room hire, program costs over the four working days and resource materials. The first block will take place from 10-15 November 2019 at the Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre, Ormiston, Brisbane, commencing with the evening meal on Sunday 10 and finishing after breakfast on Friday 15. The expectation is that participants will enrol in the full program of four-semester blocks.
Don't Miss Out - Expressions of Interest are being received now!
Expressions of Interest are being received now and until the end of April. A limited number of invitations, with application forms, will be sent out on the basis of these expressions of interest, and a fair spread of participants. Applications will close on Friday 31 May, and will be finalised by the end of June.
There is a strict limit of 24 participants, so early expressions of interest are recommended. These should be sent by the Principal or CEO yourtown, indicating:
role and experience of the applicant,
the likely benefit of the program to the applicant and the workplace,
previous formation experience, and
supporting comments from the Principal / CEO yourtown.
Please send expressions of interest to Br John Cantwell: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Places will later be offered to a second cohort of participants, to begin the program in Semester 2, 2020.
This is a first for our District, and there is already interest from people beyond ANZPPNG.
Contact your Principal or CEO yourtown, with a view to registering your expression of interest as soon as possible.
