St Michael's College is particularly fortunate to have outstanding teachers committed to a quality education for each young person entrusted to our care.
This year, coinciding with World Teachers Day, two of these teachers have been recognised with 'Teacher of the Year' awards.
EdTechSA Digital Technologies Teacher of the Year, went to Kate Tyrwhitt.
As a specialist teacher in Art and Design at the Primary Campus, Kate Tyrwhitt uses a wide array of digital technologies to enhance and engage students in learning.
Additionally, she works closely with other staff in developing both STEM and ICT initiatives that promote exciting learning opportunities for students.
Educators SA History Teacher of the Year, went to Matthew Muscat.
As History Head of Department at the Secondary Campus, Matthew Muscat is committed to ongoing innovative approaches to teaching and the targeted support of other teachers in developing their skills in teaching History.
Matthew's leadership has proven invaluable to providing exciting and quality teaching and learning opportunities in History at SMC.
This is Matthew's second Teacher of the Year award.
We thank both Matthew and Kate for their outstanding contributions to education, not only at St Michael's College, but also in the wider education community and congratulate them on their prestigious awards.
