Young Lasallians evening at St Bede's College, Mentone

Over thirty Lasallians from across Melbourne gathered at St Bede's College, Mentone on Wednesday, 30 August.

This evening event was part of an ongoing series of similar gatherings which began last year after an Australian visit from the Superior General, Brother Robert Scheiler.
Senior students and staff representatives from regional Lasallian schools come together with their Lasallian Youth Ministers and LMS Young Lasallians Team to share a meal, build community, and take time for reflection. The second event of this kind to be held in Melbourne, Wednesday's gathering featured special guest Brother Garry Coyte, Principal at St Bede's, who will be retiring at the end of this school year.

Br Gary offered an engaging and thought-provoking presentation entitled, "Living The Reality of Jesus, Today" which had everyone talking long after the evening's program concluded.

The Young Lasallians Team intend to continue bringing Young Lasallians together at similar gatherings next year. "These nights are always a great time," said Philippe Dulawan, Youth Ministry Coordinator at Lasallian Mission Services.

"Many of the students and staff who came tonight were either at the Young Lasallians Evening held at St James College earlier this year or at LYG this July. It was wonderful to see them reconnecting and building community across schools."
