Expansion of Young Lasallians Evenings: Lasallians Without Limits

Due to the success of the 'Young Lasallian Evenings' since the inaugural event held in 2016, several gatherings have been held across Sydney and Melbourne throughout the past eighteen months.

These gatherings are founded on hospitality, building community and engaging Q&A with a Lasallian theme or presenter. They have featured the Superior General, Br. David, Br. Garry and a focus on the International Lasallian Days of Peace.

This year, the Young Lasallian Team from Lasallian Mission Council, are excited to adapt this event for all other Lasallian communities while on retreats and other District-wide travel commitments.

Amanda Proulx, Assistant Director of Formation (Young Lasallians) explained, "the format of the evenings is based on the success of the initial evening held in 2016 with the Superior General Br. Robert Schieler and Br. David Hawke at Casimir Catholic College in Marrickville. The program was so well received that we felt it was important to continue bringing the Lasallian community together. These events also empower students by giving them the opportunity to hear more about the mission and consider how they can play an active role in their school communities."

For the first time, a Young Lasallians Evening is going bush and will be held in Orange on the 8 March. As there is only one Lasallian school in this community, the evening will be open to all students in Year 7 and above, members of staff, and alumni.

Our travelling Young Lasallian Team will facilitate the program which runs across 2 hours. During the first part of year, the Young Lasallian Evenings will focus on the following themes; 'Lasallians Without Limits' and 'Spreading Joy.'

Young Adult Lasallians Twilight Retreats

New Wine, Spreading Joy

There are numerous alumni who volunteer their time to serve the mission well and truly after concluding their Lasallian education. Additionally, there are many young staff members who are keen to do more. In this new program that the YLT are trialling in Melbourne and Sydney, a twilight retreat will be offered which brings Lasallians together in community and provides Formation opportunities relevant to their personal context and stage in life.

The retreats will begin with a shared meal, great conversation, group sharing and Lasallian prayer.
