An exploration of the life and work of St John Baptist De La Salle for anyone associated with a Lasallian work.
We cover the ongoing story from 1719 to the present and Lasallian values, pedagogy and spirituality in 21st century schools and other educational settings.
It is essentially a 'dialogue' between past and present: How does this heritage relate to my daily work with or on behalf of young people?
This is a residential program at the Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre, Ormiston (Brisbane). More background information on the event is includedhere.
The aims of the program are:
To have some relaxing and reflective time away from our workplaces.
To enjoy one another's company and support.
To learn something of the various Lasallian workplaces of fellow participants and of the work they do there.
To reflect on the value and significance of our work within the Lasallian mission on behalf of young people, especially the most vulnerable.
To reflect on and identify our own values and spirituality, especially as they relate to our work.
To become more familiar with the story of St John Baptist De La Salle
To become more familiar with the ongoing story of which we are now part
To make connections between the Lasallian stor and our own lives and work.
