Message from Lasallian Mission Services

On behalf of the Lasallian Mission Services (LMS) team and in a spirit of faith, I welcome all staff and students back to Lasallian ministries for 2023.

When Saint John Baptist de La Salle pronounced his original Rule, he saw that faithful membership was a by-product of a commitment to the spirit of faith:

“The spirit of this community is, first, a spirit of faith, which should induce those who compose it not to look upon anything but with the eyes of faith, not to do anything but in view of God and to attribute all to God”.

Through this lens, the LMS team wishes to continue its provision of the highest quality formation and educational services to your communities. Our Catholic values encourage the recognition, acceptance and welcoming of the wide-ranging personal beliefs of all those engaged in your ministry. Accordingly, our flexible programs utilise enriching dialogue and actions aimed at encouraging transformative behaviours which build strong relationships with all members of your community. Our rich Lasallian spirituality provides a faithful platform for teachers and young people to recognise the presence of God and Jesus’ teachings. With you, we encourage the living of these teachings through our words and actions.

The provision of practical spirituality centred on facilitation, accompaniment, and consultation, continues to be the cornerstone of our work, where we reflect and respond to the real needs of the young people we serve.

It is with that same spirit of zeal, that we welcomed our Lasallian Youth Ministers, Lasallian Volunteers, and Lasallian Student Leaders from Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea to the annual four- day induction program in mid-January. The zeal and energy displayed by all our Young Lasallians will serve us well as we embark on the new year with a renewed sense of faith, zeal and commitment to “touching the hearts” of those with whom we work.

Thank you for your work and advocacy with young Lasallians under your care.  Thank you, too, for engaging with the LMS team as you plan various evangelising and educational possibilities. The LMS team remain unconditionally committed to working with the communities entrusted to your care.

As you and your communities embrace the new year, I offer you our best wishes and commitment to serving you throughout 2023.
