Lasallian Schools Receive Generous Renovation Grant

Our Brothers in Pakistan were the beneficiaries of immense blessings announced just before the holiday season. The Lasalle Foundation International in Rome was approached by ISCOS, a Turin-based humanitarian and trade union non-profit expressing an interest in helping to secure funding for Lasallian schools in Pakistan.

Pakistan sector project manager, Azeem Samson, did not want to squander this unexpected benevolence and jumped into action, quickly meeting with administration to identify the greatest needs in Faisalabad and submit a formal proposal.

Shortly before the Christmas holiday, the Lasallian Foundation received a joyful message from Mr Sampson sharing the good news that the proposal had been approved and the Pakistan Lasallian Schools would be receiving a grant of approximately 18,386,238 Rupee ($100,000 in Australia) to complete the proposed work.

This was truly an unexpected gift and one that the teachers and students will appreciate for years to come. The funding will allow the Pakistan sector to renovate the washrooms, repair the classrooms and flooring and upgrade the science lab at La Salle High School Gokhuwal. There will also be funding to renovate two washroom blocks and construct a new gathering space for school assemblies at Lasalle High School Malkhanwala. Additionally, both schools will have a dedicated room constructed to house the new RO water filtration systems that are planned for the future, both schools will receive an equal allotment of funding to spend on new books for the library and classroom.

We couldn’t be happier and more grateful for the blessings that our sister schools in Pakistan will be receiving. While the funding offer was only available to the Lasallian Schools in Faisalabad we will all benefit from this gift.

The funding that would have been allotted for maintenance, repairs and supplies for these schools can now be reallocated to meet the needs of other schools.

We want to express our deep gratitude to the Government of Italy’s generous grant to support our schools, and we would like to extend special appreciation to the dedicated men and women at the ISCOS. We are humbled that they took notice of our work with the youth of Pakistan, saw the value in providing quality education opportunities for all students, and empowering them to become leaders of their communities.
